Estela has presented her own work in various galas and choreographic platforms in Spain and the UK, including creations for Rambert’s New Evening of Choreography at the Lilian Baylis Theatre and The Place Resolution! 2015.

Estela believes in the continuous experimentation and internalisation of the body, combining emotional and sensory awareness with high physicality.

Merlos has a lot of fire in the flash of her eyes but there is also a poetic flow in the powerful dislocation of space her movement provokes.

'MY DUST WILL TELL' (Feb 2015)

Premiered at The Robin Howard Theatre - The Place (London) as part of Resolution! 2015

Choreography: Estela Merlos

Dancers: Piedad Albarracín Séiquer and Estela Merlos
Music: R. Enrique González
Costume: Paula Tafalla

My Dust Will Tell is a journey of courage, exploring the urge of escaping from what may be imposed on us.

"This process has allowed me to go beyond my boundaries, I have been able to relate real memories to every moment of the choreography which have evoked a natural symbiosis of movement and emotion from the beginning of the creation. Every day in the studio has been a new challenge, a new discovery of my own self"

                                                                                           Dancer, Piedad Albarracín Séiquer

"The clarity of intent, the deep torsion and tension of the dancing – especially Séiquer's searing solo – lift the work above the studious and into the realm of theatre"

         Sanjoy Roy, The Guardian

"It seemed to be a dancing dichotomy of power and control"

       Hayley McLeod
